Technology has captured
my attention from a young age. As I was growing up I would constantly play
around with electronics, wondering why they worked in the ways they did. It
fascinates me how typing in numbers and letters in a certain fashion can make a
device perform a certain function. I have always been interested in the
mechanics of this. Cell phones and other mobile devices have always been
something in which I’ve taken an interest. It’s shocking to me how they have become a
significant part of daily life and how much people have come to rely on their functions.
Applications, or apps as they are nicknamed, are a big part of the craze around
cell phones.
My interest with this
technology therefore led me to decide upon creating an app for my Senior
Project. I will construct an application myself. It will be related to media of
some sort. I hope to release
it to a marketplace at some point as well.
For the research paper
portion of my project I will focus on the ways in which the cell phone has
become an entertainment hub. I will learn more about how the creation and
evolution of apps has consequently influenced the evolution of mobile phones.
